Description
Japanese Secateur • Kuroco • 200 mm
- The shock-absorbing spring cushions the impact upon finishing a cut, significantly reducing wrist strain and fatigue.
- A locking ring at the base secures the shears when not in use.
The KUROCO tool series represents top-tier pruning tools that have already garnered numerous awards in Japan and are quickly becoming the gold standard among professional gardeners.
- Handcrafted following deep-rooted blacksmithing traditions at the Yoshioka Edged-Toolworks forge in Ono, Japan.
- Blades are made from high-quality carbon steel (Aogami).
Important: This tool is designed for pruning branches up to 20 mm thick. For bigger branches, we recommend choosing a pruning saw, or loppers (two-handed shears).
Specifications:
- Blade length: 60 mm
- Total length: 200 mm
- Weight: 245 g
Maintenance:
Handmade Japanese secateurs feature an ergonomic design, smooth operation, and long-lasting sharpness. The blade however is made from traditional carbon steel, very hard but also brittle (more brittle than most people are used to) and rusting. Therefore take good care of this tool, don’t abuse it by cutting wires, dry branches and such.
After use, we advise cleaning the blades and coating them with plant-based oil. Store the secateur in a dry place. If rust or other residue forms, you can use products from our steel care kit.
